About
For over 20 years, Southold Center for Education has provided resources for college and professional women in the South Bend area who seek to integrate both core human virtues and spiritual values into their professional work, friendships, and home life.
The spiritual and doctrinal aspects of activities sponsored by Southold are entrusted to Opus Dei, a personal Prelature of the Catholic Church. Opus Dei (Latin for "Work of God") was founded in 1928 by a Catholic priest, St. Josemaría Escrivá, to help laypeople seek holiness through the ordinary circumstances of their lives, especially through the sanctification of their work. St. Josemaría was canonized by Pope John Paul II on October 6, 2002.
